Muhwawon means “a fragrance blooming like mist in a garden.”
It is a perfume atelier brand inspired by the rising mist of Changdeokgung’s Secret Garden, harmoniously blending tradition with modern sensibilities.
One-day Class (90 minutes)

1.Pre-Class Assessment
1 minute
We briefly assess each participant’s fragrance experience and scent preferences. We determine whether 1:1 personalized guidance is needed or if self-blending is suitable, and adjust the class difficulty accordingly. We also ask whether photography will be required during the session.
2. Watch the theory video
7 minutes
We explain the basic structure of a perfume, helping participants understand concentration levels, fragrance notes, and accords. The video summarizes the key points in a simple way so that even beginners can follow along easily. This foundation makes the subsequent smelling and blending process smoother.
3. Olfaction
20-40 minutes
This is the process of exploring your preferences by smelling 48 different raw materials. Participants narrow down the candidate ingredients for their final recipe. (Please let us know if you have any specific scents you would like to include.)
4. Selecting Ingredients
5 minutes
Participants select their 6–9 favorite ingredients from the ones they have smelled. A professional perfumer helps check the role of each scent within the overall perfume structure. This is the stage where the formula is designed to match the desired mood or atmosphere of the final fragrance.
5. Blending
20 minutes
Participants blend the selected ingredients in small amounts through the first, second, and third rounds of mixing. After each round, they check the scent’s progression, harmony, and weight. This is the adjustment process to find the recipe that most closely matches the desired fragrance.
6. Measuring
15 minutes
The finalized ingredient ratios are measured precisely. Accuracy is crucial, as the exact proportions determine the quality of the fragrance, so this step is carried out carefully.
7. Bottling and Packaging
5 minutes
The final fragrance is completed as a product. It is poured into the container, and the cap and label are added. Participants can also give their creation a name that suits their scent. The finished perfume is packaged and ready to take home immediately.
How many people can participate at once?
The class can accommodate up to 10 participants at a time. For groups of 6 or more, the space is reserved exclusively. (6–8 participants: one table, 9–10 participants: split into a 4-person and a 6-person table)
Is commercial filming allowed?
The space is approximately 99 m², with a maximum capacity of 20 people for commercial filming. Reservations for commercial shoots are available for a minimum of 2 hours, and pricing can be provided upon inquiry. Filming outside business hours (e.g., 10:00 AM) is possible with prior arrangement.
